Exporting and importing audits allows you to edit audits externally, or copy audits by exporting and importing them back into the system.

Export audits

  1. From the menu on the left, click Admin.

  2. Under Audits, click Export Audits.

  3. From the Folder drop-down menu, select the audit folder.

  4. Select the audit using the check box next to it. You can select multiple audits at a time. The audits will appear under Selected Audits.

  5. Click Export Audits.

  6. Select Audits Only or Audits with folders.

  7. Click Export.

📌Note: The audits will be exported in XML file format. If you're unsure how to open or work with XML files, please consult with your internal IT department for assistance.

Import audits

  1. From the menu on the left, click Admin.

  2. Under Audits, click Import Audits.

  3. Click Import Audits.

  4. Select the XML file to upload.

  5. Click Open.

  6. Select the check box next to the audit name to select it.

  7. Check the audits are showing on the right-hand side of the screen.

  8. Click Import Audits.

⚠️Important: The format of the XML file being uploaded must be exact or the import process will fail.

Copy audits

To copy an audit into the system, export the audit then re-import it. This will create an exact copy of the audit but without any schedules. It’s recommended to rename the copied audit to make it unique.

🤓Tip: If you're using an XML editor to modify the audit before uploading, you can use the Name and Description tags for this.

Split audits

By exporting, re-importing, and editing the templates, you can effectively split a single audit into multiple, more manageable audits.

To divide an audit into two or more separate audits, you need to export and then re-import them. Similar to the process described in the Copy audits section we recommend renaming the audits. This will help you easily identify each separate part.

Once the copy has been completed, you can edit each part and remove the questions that you don't want.

Example:

If your original audit contains questions 1–10:

  • Audit A: Keep questions 1–5.

  • Audit B: Keep questions 6–10.
