Care home audits are essential evaluations that help ensure the quality and safety of services provided in care homes. These audits assess compliance with established standards and regulations, aiming to provide residents with the best possible care.
You can create audits that evaluate key areas such as infection control, medication management and staff training. To get started creating a new audit from the very beginning, follow these sections through in order.
⚠️ Important: You'll need permissions for the Admin section. If you don't have these permissions, contact your system administrator regarding your access levels.
Create the audit
The first thing you need to do is create the audit, set it's location, requirements and scoring system, and assign access to view it.
From the left menu, click Admin.
Under Audits, click Manage Audits.
Using the drop-down to select the folder the audit needs to be kept in, or create a new folder by clicking Create Folder.
Click Add Audit.
Enter the audit type name and a description of the audit.
Under Audit Requirements, select who the audit requires details from.
Under Additional Audit Settings, use the checkboxes to select how the audit's rating calculates.
Click Save settings.
Add sections
Next, you can organise audit questions into sections to make them easier to manage and complete. This step is optional.
In the audit, click Configure Sections.
Click Configure Sections again.
Fill in the Section name and Short name fields.
Click Save.
📌Note: The Section Score is a legacy function and can no longer be used.
Add your audit questions
Once the audit is set up and you've created your question sections, you can start adding the questions to them.
Click the section you want to add the questions to, then click Add New Question.
Enter the question details using these tables.
📌Note: An audit auto-saves each time a question is added.

Once you've set up the audit and added the questions, the final step is to assign access permissions. This ensures that only the appropriate staff members can view or complete the audit.
Using the Assign Roles to Audit drop-down box, select the roles that need to view the audit.
Click Save settings.
🤓Tip: If you want all roles to have access to view the audit, leave this section blank.
