Updated over a week ago

We’ve made some exciting updates to the Access Care Compliance Incident v3 module, giving you even more flexibility to tailor the master template to suit your organisation’s unique needs. These improvements are designed to make your experience smoother and more customisable.

In addition, we’ve implemented performance enhancements related to Excel report generation, ensuring faster output when exporting data from the application.

What's new

  • Show/Hide Toggles – Control visibility by showing or hiding specific questions and panels on your customised copies of the incident template.

  • Choice Options – Add your own answer choices to existing dropdowns and multi-select questions, without altering the locked, Access-provided options.

  • Required/Optional Toggles – Decide which questions and panels must be completed before submission, helping you enforce the right level of detail every time.

  • Editable Titles and Descriptions – You can now update panel and question titles, and tailor the default descriptions to better reflect your organisation’s language and tone.

  • Spelling and Wording Improvements – Thanks for your keen eyes! We’ve corrected spelling and grammar issues in the default master template to ensure everything reads just right.

These updates are all about giving you more control. We hope they make a real difference in how you manage incidents!

What you could already do when copying the Incident Master Template

Before the latest improvements, copying the Incident Master Template already gave you a solid toolkit to customise your forms and workflows to better reflect how your organisation handles incidents.

Here’s a reminder of what was already possible:

  • Add Custom Questions and Panels – You could insert additional questions and panels into specific sections of the form to capture the exact information your team needs.

  • Apply Conditional Logic – When adding your own questions or panels, you had the ability to set up conditional (IF) statements to control when certain fields appear—making your form smarter and more responsive based on user input

These features gave you a strong starting point for building a tailored incident management experience and now, with the latest enhancements, you’ve got even more tools to work with!

New features

Show/Hide toggle & Required/Optional toggle

In most cases, it’ll be clear when a field can be customised. However, some fields are essential to the workflow and to keep things running smoothly we’ve restricted editing on those. There are also a few questions and panels that can’t be hidden or made optional—this is to ensure you don’t encounter issues progressing through the form.

If you’d like to adjust the visibility (show/hide) or requirement (mandatory/optional) of a question or panel, head to the General tab in the form builder. There, you’ll find Visible and Required checkboxes. These handy toggles let you quickly control whether a field is shown or hidden, and whether it must be completed before submission.

We’re working on providing a clear list of which fields can and can’t be edited.

In the example below, we’ve selected the ‘Date Reported’ question and applied the following settings:

  • Visible

  • Required

Condition-driven read-only mode

If a question or panel is shown or hidden based on a condition set elsewhere in the form, the Visible checkbox will appear as read-only. You’ll also see a helpful “Enabled by a condition” link—clicking this will take you directly to the rule in the Conditions section, so you can see what’s driving the behaviour.

Choice options

Dropdowns, checkboxes, and multi-select questions now come with a handy Choice Options section.

If you’ve got permission to edit incident templates, you can easily add your own answer choices to better reflect your organisation’s needs.

Choices provided by Access Care Compliance are locked, so while you can expand the list, the essentials stay safe and unchanged.
