The audit percentage score is calculated by comparing the number of compliant answers to the total available score for the audit. For example, if 5 out of 10 questions are marked as compliant, the score will show approximately 50%. Keep in mind that this percentage can be affected by answers marked as N/A or by questions that don’t have scoring set up correctly.

Why audit score might look incorrect

If your audit shows a score that doesn’t seem right such as a higher score than the total possible it could be due to scoring thresholds being changed while the audit was in progress.

How a mismatch happens

  • When an audit starts, it locks in the scoring structure, for example: each question is worth 10 points.

  • If you later change those values, for example: reduce each question to 5 points, the audit will still be scored against the new thresholds, causing mismatches.

Example

  • Audit starts with 10 questions worth 10 points each (100 total).

  • While it's in progress, the scoring is changed to 5 points per question (50 total).

  • When completed, the audit might score 100 out of 50, causing confusion.

Best Practice

  • Avoid changing scoring settings for audits that are already in progress.

  • Complete or archive active audits before editing scoring parameters.
