When a user can’t see their action plans or sees an error message, it’s usually because of incorrect permissions, overridden settings, or actions tied to archived locations. Follow these steps to quickly fix the issue and restore visibility.
Step 1: Check Role Permissions
Start by making sure the user’s role has permission to view action plans.
From the left menu, click Admin from the left-hand menu.
Under Security, select Role Management.
Use the search box to find the affected role.
Click the Edit icon next to the role.
In the Actions section, tick ViewActionPlan.
Click Save.
Step 2: Check Generic Action Setup (If Using Action Levels)
If your system uses Action Levels, they can override regular role permissions.
Go to Admin > Generic Action Setup under the Actions section.
Scroll to the Action Level section.
Click Edit next to the relevant action level.
Choose the user’s Role from the drop-down.
Assign the correct Permissions.
Click Save.
Step 3: Check for Archived Locations
Actions linked to archived locations can still show on dashboards but will trigger errors when clicked.
Go to Reports from the left menu.
Click System Exports.
Select Locations from the Module drop-down.
Click Export.
Open the file and check the Archived column.
Look for “Y” to identify archived locations.
If the action is linked to an archived location, you’ll need to either unarchive the location or reassign the action.
